The Set :
One lid of 2 electrodes : 1 Anode (black one) + 1 Cathode (Ti)
+ 1 PVC Lid (with 2 holes)
+ Spacer
+ 2 Nuts (M8)
+ 2 PTFE rings
+ 2Pcs M8 loop connector (you should weld them with Tin)
Specification :
– 120mm X 120mm X 10mm Lid in PVC (not in PTFE like the old version)
– Anode : Lead dioxide (PbO2) coating on Titanium substrate provides excellent resistance to chemicals, and oxidation.
– Anode size : 150x60x3,5mm of working surface + 35mm connector, as the pictures.
– Cathode size : 150x60x1,5mm + connector
– The PbO2 coating is around 100 to 300µm on average.
– The lifetime is high, but depends on the use conditions.
– Recommended current is 200 to 250mA/Cm2 (230mA/Cm² seems to be the better yield)
– The shape has been design for 25/30 Amps with 1 cathode and 40A for both side with 2 cathodes. (lower current = longer lifetime).
– Max working temperature: 60 to 70°C. For perchlorate, the better yield is near 45/50°C.
– The PVC lid is a good compromise : it is a plastic that resist properly to chlorine gas, and thus, totaly protect the connector from the corrosive brine, it just need to don’t going over 80°C at connector because it will begin to soften.
– This anode allow to electrolyze from chloride to perchlorate in one step.
– Durable and reliable laboratory equipment.
– This coating thick lifespan enable to produce 25 to 100Kg of perchlorate, in good conditions, by starting from chlorate (it really depend of your skills).
– With yield near 33/35%, that mean 2,7AH.grams of Na-chlorate, you can reach more than 95% purity of perchlorate. Then, you can destroy the chlorate with methabisulfite.
– You can produce something like 700g/day of perchlorate at 30Amps over 96% purity.
– Many people ask me « is it better/useful to start from chlorate instead of NaCl salt ? » → the answer is yes, and your anode will get 3 to 5 more lifetime. If you have problem by starting from chloride (NaCl) then, you would have been warned ! (see the video).

Warning:
– PbO2 coating is quite sensitive : never chock them.
– Almost all anodes have few imperfections on the coating, in each case it stay under 2-3% of the total coating and don’t represent a problem for the use.
– Avoid fluorine and all fluorine salt (persulfate works very well).
– Respect the max current to avoid fast degradation.
– PbO2 is toxic for the environment (lead dioxide can be throw with hold Pb car batteries)
– Don’t reverse polarity, it will rapidly destroyed the electrodes
– Gas are dangerous and flammable, the running cell MUST work in appropriate place.
– Read the manual.
– In some countries, for non-laboratories, some (per)-chlorate and their concentrations are restricted.

Perfect, very solide strong and extreme thick coating. Probably very long service time.
